ORAM is an international non-profit organisation that protects and empowers LGBTIQ asylum seekers and refugees globally, creating sustainability and systemic change. Our Berlin-based office, that is leading our Ukraine humanitarian response, is looking for a Project Officer to implement and oversee a project on Economic Opportunities and Empowerment of LBTIQ (Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, and Queer) refugees and asylum seekers in Germany. The successful candidate should have proven experience in project implementation, exceptional attention to detail and be passionate about supporting refugees and LGBTIQ displaced persons.

  • Work with the Programme Manager to develop a comprehensive project plan, specifically objectives, scope, deliverables, and timeline to ensure all project goals are met accordingly.

  • Conduct thorough research and identify LBTIQ refugees to be part of the project and benefit from activities.

  • Collaborate and maintain regular contact with the clients, project partners and relevant stakeholders to coordinate project activities.

  • Liaison with our partner in Poland, who will be rolling out similar activities and projects in Warsaw, Poland.

  • Create detailed project reports to assess project progress and maintain deadlines as set out by the funder.

  • Coordinate the delivery and facilitations of trainings and workshops ensuring they are accessible and inclusive for the target audience.

  • Gather feedback from participants and make necessary adjustments for ensure quality results of the trainings and that their needs are met continuous improvement.

  • Identify and communicate project risks, issues, and mitigation strategies to senior management in a timely manner.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., refugee rights, international development, or human rights).

  • Experience working as a Project Officer or similar role, preferably in an NGO setting.

  • Proven knowledge and understanding of issues facing LGBTIQ or marginalized and vulnerable groups fleeing conflict areas within the EU.

  • Strong organizational skills and extensive attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Familiarity with the NGO sector in Germany, specifically Berlin.

  • Ability to network and conduct outreach.

  • Empathy and professionalism.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German.

  • Knowledge of Ukrainian, and/or Russian is a plus.

  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
