
Anne Campbell

Anne Campbell (she/her) is an independent scholar and consultant, working on projects related to international human rights, higher education scholarship programs, diplomacy, social change, and climate justice. She formerly was an Associate Professor at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS) in Monterey, California, and a U.S. Fulbright Scholar in Kosovo, working with the Ministry of Education to support higher education policymaking. She also has served as a program manager at the Open Society Foundations in New York and as a lead administrator at Doctors without Borders in Haiti. Anne has a Ph.D. in comparative and international development education (University of Minnesota) and an M.A. in critical theory and cultural studies (University of Nottingham). Currently, she is writing a book titled Finding Freedom? Queer International Students in U.S. Higher Education (under contract with MIT Press), which focuses on students who come from countries without legal protections for LGBTQIA+ citizens.
