The Nursing Department is currently implementing a large part of the daily humanitarian work of the Greek Red Cross, through pioneering programs of Primary Health Care, Continuing Education and Emergency. As well, through the Social Welfare Programs and Forms of Social Intervention for Vulnerable Groups, they provide high quality services and taking into account current social developments and trends from Psychosocial Support and Counseling programs for long-term unemployed, single parents, people with disabilities, the homeless, immigrants, refugees, etc.; interventions in situations of mass arrivals of asylum seekers; social integration programs for asylum seekers and refugees through multiple actions, such as intercultural education programs, employment promotion, mediation with government or other services, etc.; and organization and operation of Reception and Temporary Accommodation Centers for asylum seekers and unaccompanied minors.
