LGBTIQ people around the world are facing extreme forms of persecution, violence, and isolation every day. With your help, we can provide vital support to one of the world’s most vulnerable populations.
Make an investment through your donor advised fund in exchange for an immediate tax deduction.
A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support ORAM. Investing in stocks and mutual funds protects your future – and ORAM’s – when you make a sustainable tax-free gift from your IRA.
How it works:
Donors aged 70 and older may transfer up to $100,000 directly from IRAs to qualified charities, including ORAM.
The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a federal tax deduction, so donors who do not itemize their tax deduction can benefit.
The IRA charitable rollover gift satisfies all or part of the minimum distribution requirements.

Transfer stocks, bonds, and mutual funds
A gift of appreciated securities provides significant benefits, including immediate charitable deduction for the stock's full market value and avoidance of capital gains taxes that would normally be due upon sale.
How it works:
Stock donations for ORAM are handled via donor services for ORAM and our affiliate Alight.
Please notify us of the transfer to make sure we can thank you properly. Email us at oraminfo@oramrefugee.org (or MelissaP@oramrefugee.org) use “Stock donation” in the subject line of your email.
Once the transaction is complete, we will send you a receipt and acknowledgement.
By giving shares, you can receive a tax benefit on any stock gains while also supporting LGBTQI refugees around the world. Your gift receipt will show the full market value of your stock.
